Celebrate the Most Beautiful Holidays of the Year in Vilnius!

“With its medieval layout, baroque cityscape, and cobblestone streets, the heart of Lithuania’s capital city, Vilnius, charms in any season of the year. But add a dusting of snow to the castles, Gothic churches, and red-tile roofs, and the Vilnius Historic Center, or Old Town (a UNESCO World Heritage site), becomes an utterly enchanting winter wonderland” – one of the most popular travel magazines National Geographic writes about Vilnius. The magazine recommends to visit Vilnius this year to all those who look for a Christmas miracle.

Every year in the end of December – beginning of January, more and more tourists from neighbouring countries visit Vilnius; they come from Norway, Great Britain, Italy, and Spain. “Presently, visits to Vilnius Tourist Information Centres also increase: foreign tourists enquire how and where they could cosily and interestingly spend holidays and get to know beautiful city with a scent of Christmas. The Lithuanian also get more active during holidays; they look for active entertainments, more possibilities to get to know the Capital city during winter holidays and their annual holidays” – says Jolanta Beniulienė, Director of Vilnius Tourism & Convention Bureau.

Vilnius Tourist Information Centre invites to spend and celebrate the most beautiful holidays of the year in Vilnius this year, as well. On 29 December – 9 January, at 12.00 p.m. walking tours in English and Russian shall be organised in the festively decorated Capital’s OldTown. During the tours, city guests shall get to know the most beautiful and magic places of Vilnius OldTown on foot. Multi-national, multi-religious, multi-cultural city has always attracted city guests and fascinated with architectural variety, interesting museums, churches, narrow streets, and cosy yards.
