Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius Congratulates New French Prime Minister

Acting Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius has sent a letter to Bernard Cazeneuve congratulating him on being appointed as Prime Minister of France.

‘France is Lithuania’s strategic partner in the European Union and in the field of security. This direction binds our states together and provides a solid framework for close cooperation in achieving common European and security goals. I believe that by relying on each other’s support and understanding we will be able to overcome the challenges ahead of us. I welcome the excellent relations between Lithuania and France as well as successful cooperation in economic, cultural and other areas. This year we have updated the strategic partnership plan between Lithuania and France and we will work towards its consistent implementation. I am convinced that this will provide an excellent basis for further strengthening and development of our bilateral relations’, says the Prime Minister’s letter, wishing every success to the French Prime Minister in achieving his declared goals.
