Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis has extended greetings to Vice President of the United States Michael R. Pence and his compatriots on the occasion of the Independence Day.
“It is with delight that I note the consistent development of the close and intensive partnership between our countries. The United States is a strategic ally and a close friend of Lithuania. Today, we stand together for our common goals: freedom, democracy and respect for fundamental human rights”, reads Prime Minister’s letter.
The Prime Minister has expressed appreciation to the United States for the contribution to the reinforced security in Lithuania and the entire region, noting the shared positions and common efforts in maintaining international peace and security.
“The United States’ long-standing commitment to the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Lithuania during the years of repression of our country will never be forgotten. Today, we are ready to open a new page of further cooperation in technologies, science and trade and thus strengthen our bilateral economic cooperation and people-to-people contacts”, notes Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis.
